The Michigan Women's Directory assists companies, major foundations and large nonprofit organizations in finding and selecting talented women to serve as directors on their boards.

Many business executives have expressed frustration finding the right "fit" in their director searches. The Directory was created to provide efficient, professional assistance for them and other entities seeking diversity within their governing boards.

The Michigan Women's Foundation created The Directory in March 1997, with the assistance of Crain's Detroit Business, Michigan's leading business publication. Crain's helped to identify an initial list of 100 influential women to form the basis for a database of names that has grown to over 400 women..

Crain's list of most influential women is partnered with The Michigan Women's Foundation and Executive Recruiters International.
